Special Occasion

I pursued fashion design is because of the feeling, after all the hard work, when your vision comes to life. I was interested in the arts from a young age. I took a fashion design class in my junior year of high school and realized that I loved making fashion drawings. This led to me learning that I love seeing my drawings come to life as garments. That being said, I’ve always had a creative eye and I was always able to see proportions and make things that catch people’s eye. As a designer I like to make statement pieces that are feminine with a little edge. This is one of the reasons I chose the Special Occasion concentration. Special occasion doesn’t have to be ball gowns and dresses. Special Occasion to me is anything that catches someone’s eye and makes a statement, which is what I would like to achieve as a designer.
