My passion for designing and making clothes comes from an early age as I watched my mother and grandmother sew. I was raised by a single mother who learned how to sew from her mother, as a way to save money on buying clothes. In Cuba, my grandmother owned and operated a small business, atelier-like, where she manufactured jeans and other denim apparel. I learned how to sew when I was 6 years old and received my first sewing machine soon after, if you ask my mom, this is when she knew I would become a fashion designer. While in high school I had the privilege to work with Cosabella in a design contest, this is when I realized I had found my true calling in intimate apparel. Within the last year, I have developed my own lingerie brand inspired by my senior thesis, La Femme Licencieuse.
