Designing is like exercise – something I simply have to do for my mental sanity, it has always been a part of who I am. I learned how to sew when I was 6, and fashion was never a question, simply my reality. Born and raised in Maine, nature was always my inspiration.  History has also been a driving factor in my aesthetic. I love to mix and match structured garments with flowing, draped ones. Whether it be a boned bodice with a blazer or a wild 70’s-inspired print, there is always a historic reference and an organic element. There is no greater artist than Nature, and there is no point in trying to invent something new without learning what has been done. I chose sportswear because it gives the most freedom in what one is able to design. I feel I was able to create elements from every field.
