The look is inspired by DC comic book villains. The handknit coat and multi-jacquard dress and corset are paired with nail gloves. The chunky coat is handknit with an entrelac technique and has detachable sleeves. Fishtail dresses and colorful corsets were created with jacquards designed and programmed by Jennifer Chi.

The Joker graphic on the coat was created by artist Ryan Sook, in the style of Frank Miller, to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Joker’s comic book debut.
The Joker jacquard on the dress and corset are reinterpreted versions of artist Ryan Sook’s Joker face. The skirt panels of the dress can be rearranged to the wearer’s preference.
Handknit gloves, in contrasting jersey/purl stitches, are adorned with applique fake nails that are decorated with nail charms consisting of flowers and cartoons.
The dress’s jacquard is an original geometric pattern created by Jennifer Chi and has a side-opening detail. Skirt panels are attached with chains and can be taken off or rearranged.

Meet the Designer
I design because it makes me happy and that’s all I want in life. I design so I can wear the garments that I create and so that other people can join in on the fun. I would describe my design aesthetic as colorful, fun, and, dare I say, quirky. A lot of the projects I have worked on so far have been inspired by movies or TV shows that I like. I like to take inspiration from things that I find entertaining and interpret them in my own way. I don’t think that what I create is completely unique, but it feels unique to me. I never want to take myself too seriously and I never want my designs to take themselves too seriously.
