Critics 2022 – Jacky Marshall

Known as Jacky Blue, artist Jacky Marshall is an illustrator and designer well known in the fashion industry for her innovative use of color and ability to turn simple linework into striking silhouettes. Informed by her tenured experience as a designer, Jacky creates bold and feminine compositions which can only be attributed to her unique skill set and vision.

Jacky earned her master’s degree from the Royal College of Art and moved to New York to work on the design team for brands including Calvin Klein, Narciso Rodriguez, and Donna Karan Collection. During her time designing for global brands, Jacky’s art came to life on the runway. Her illustrations, however, remained a hidden treasure, known only to those behind the scenes of the fashion world. When brands began asking her to feature the illustrations of her designs as prints in their collection, she started to see that her love for illustration could reach beyond the design room. In 2017, Jacky transitioned to illustrating full time – her longtime passion.

Shortly after founding her illustration studio, Jacky quickly gained notoriety on Instagram, where what once could only be seen pinned on the walls of showrooms and studios can now be seen by artists and art lovers alike. In 2021, she self-published a limited edition photo collage book currently being sold at Dashwood Books. Her work has been shown in exhibits at the Fashion Illustration Gallery in London and featured by Marc Jacobs and Stella McCartney. Jacky is currently based in New York City and is available for private commissions.

Clients include Agnona, Clinique, HOBO, Marc Jacobs, Perfect Magazine, RADvocacy’s Impact Awards, SHOWstudio, Stella McCartney, Stuart Weitzman, Vogue, and YOOX.
